Weekend Flyer doesn’t need an account, and we collect as little as we can to show you trips. This policy covers the Weekend Flyer website and the Weekend Flyer app, run by DM Solutions and Development (“Weekend Flyer”, “we”).
The short version: your search choices stay in your browser or on your phone. Our servers see what they need to find trips (like your home airport and any vibe you type), plus the technical details every website receives. We don’t sell your information and we never see your payment details: you book with our partners directly. Our website loads one partner script, from the affiliate network Travelpayouts, which may set cookies to track referrals (see Cookies).
What we collect
When you search
To find trips, your browser or the app sends our servers your home airport and any vibe you type yourself (for example, “K-pop”). When you open a trip, we receive which trip it is so we can check its price live. None of this is tied to your name or an account.
When you add a vibe of your own, we keep the words you typed and how many events matched, with the time, and nothing that identifies you. We use this to decide which vibes to add next.
What stays on your device
On the website, your filters live in the page address. In the app, your settings (home airport, budget, vibes, saved trips and which parts of a trip you’ve marked as booked) are stored on your phone and aren’t sent to us.
Technical information
Like any website or app, our hosting and database providers receive your IP address, browser or device type, and the pages and data you request, in server logs. These are used to run the service, keep it secure and fix problems, and are kept for a limited time.
If you join the waitlist
We keep the email address you give us, which page you signed up on, and any home airport or vibes you picked, to tell you when trip prices go live. We don’t use it for anything else or share it. Every email we send has a way to unsubscribe, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time.
If you contact us
If you email us, we keep your email address and message so we can reply.
In the app
- Notifications: only if you allow them, for price alerts on trips you save.
- Calendar: only if you ask to add a trip to your calendar. The app opens your phone’s own new-event screen; it doesn’t read your calendar.
- We don’t access your location, contacts or photos, and we don’t track you across other apps or websites.
Cookies
Weekend Flyer itself doesn’t set advertising or analytics cookies. Our website does load a script from Travelpayouts, an affiliate network we work with. It may set cookies and see which pages you visit on our site, so that bookings you make with travel partners after following our links are credited to us; it can also turn links on our pages into partner links. Travelpayouts’ own privacy policy applies to that information. When you follow a link to a partner (for example, a ticket site), that partner may set its own cookies, including one that records that Weekend Flyer referred you so we can be paid a commission. Their privacy policies apply on their sites.
How we use information
- To find and price trips, and show them to you.
- To keep Weekend Flyer working and secure, and to understand what to improve.
- To reply when you contact us, and to email you about our launch if you joined the waitlist.
Who we share it with
- Service providers that run Weekend Flyer for us, such as our hosting and database providers, only to provide their service to us.
- Affiliate networks such as Travelpayouts, whose script on our website records visits and referrals as described under Cookies.
- Travel and event data providers. To price trips we send them search details such as airports, cities and dates. We don’t send them anything that identifies you.
- Partners you choose to visit. When you follow a booking link, you go to the partner’s site, and they receive what any website receives from a visitor.
- When the law requires it, or to protect Weekend Flyer’s users and rights, and to a new owner if Weekend Flyer is ever sold or merged.
We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law.
Your choices and rights
You can clear what’s stored in your browser, or delete the app, at any time. Depending on where you live (including California), you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it and to have it deleted. Email hello@theweekendflyer.com and we’ll respond within the time the law allows. We won’t treat you differently for using these rights.
Children
Weekend Flyer is for adults planning travel and isn’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from children.
Security and storage
We use service providers with industry-standard security, and our database is in the United States. No service can promise perfect security, so we collect as little as we can in the first place.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll say so on the site.
